Asbestos Removal

Asbestos Removal and Abatement Services

Asbestos is a naturally occurring mineral that was once widely used in building materials for insulation, flooring, and roofing. Because of its durability and fire resistance, many older structures still contain asbestos today. When disturbed during events like floods, fires, or renovations, asbestos fibers can become airborne and pose a serious health risk when inhaled.

Handling, removing, or disposing of asbestos-containing materials should only be performed by trained and certified professionals. At Plan B, we provide safe and compliant asbestos removal and abatement services designed to protect your property and the people in it. Our specialists follow all government regulations for containment, removal, and disposal to ensure complete safety throughout the process.

Never attempt to remove asbestos on your own. Contact Plan B Restoration for an inspection or quote, and let our licensed experts handle the job safely and effectively.

The Asbestos Removal Process

Depending on the condition of the asbestos-containing materials, professionals may recommend either encapsulation or removal.

During encapsulation, certified technicians apply a specialized sealant that coats the asbestos material and prevents harmful fibers from becoming airborne. If the damage is too severe or the material cannot be safely sealed, full removal is necessary.

The asbestos removal process typically includes the following steps:

  • Turning off HVAC systems and sealing vents to prevent asbestos fibers from circulating
  • Isolating the work area with plastic sheeting to ensure containment
  • Using wet cleaning methods and HEPA-filtered vacuums to safely remove dust and debris
  • Placing all removed materials into clearly labeled, leak-tight containers for safe disposal

Throughout the process, certified specialists wear protective gear, including full-face respirators and coveralls. After removal, strict decontamination procedures are followed. Workers clean, contain, and dispose of contaminated clothing and shower in a designated area before entering clean zones.

Once asbestos abatement is complete, all materials are properly disposed of according to local, state, and federal regulations to ensure a safe, compliant, and fully restored environment.
